Getting to Prague and to the venue

By plane

Prague is easily accessible from all major European cities (max. flying time is about 2.5 hours) and there are direct flights from 128 destinations all over the world. Note, that there are also several low cost providers operating the flights to Prague. The principal Prague airport is the Václav Havel airport which comprises three terminals – Terminal 1 (non-Schengen countries), Terminal 2 (Schengen countries) and Terminal 3 (private, special and cargo flights).
Václav Havel Airport Prague is located 30 – 45 minutes by car from the centre of Prague. There are good connections between the airport and the city centre by public transport – buses and taxis.

  • Taxi
    Airport taxi can be ordered via the https://www.prg.aero/en/taxi.
    When taking a taxi, make sure the taxi is equipped with a permanently installed yellow roof lamp with the TAXI sign in black letters. The registration number, company name and price list including the base rate, rate per kilometre and one-minute-waiting rate must be displayed on both front doors of the cab. These prices must correspond with the prices set on the meter in the cab.
    Customers are recommended to order a taxi with non-stop dispatching offices where the information on fares is available in advance.
    In the city centre taxis are easy to hail from the street but we strongly recommend that you use hotel taxis or obtain taxis by phone through the radio taxi service e.g. AAA (+ 420 14 014), City taxi (+420 257 257 257) or Speed cars (+420 224 234 234).
    Boarding charge: approximately 40 CZK.
    Journeys within the city: approximately 28 CZK/ 1 kilometre. Do not board the taxi without finding out if there is a fixed rate.

  • Public Transport from/to the Prague Airport
    Please use the bus No. 100 to get to the Zličín (metro line B) – duration about 15 minutes. The bus stops are situated in front of the Arrival hall of the Terminal 2 and Terminal 1. At Zličín use the metro line B to the station Florenc (14 stops, 24 minutes). One single ticket (32 CZK = 1.2 EUR) is sufficient for the whole route between the airport and the venue (Florenc).

     
    Airport Express Bus: Prague Airport – Prague Main Train Station (metro line C) – duration about 35 min. Then use the metro line C in the direction Letňany and exit the train at Florenc (1 stop, 2 minutes). Please note that a special ticket is necessary for the Airport Express Bus (about 80 CZK = 3 EUR) and then a short-term ticket for the metro transport (24 CZK= 1 EUR).

    Public Transport Ticket Sale
    Public transport counters and vending machines are located in arrival halls of the airport Terminals 1 & 2 (from 7 am to 10 pm), in arrival halls of train stations and vending machines are also at bus stops (cash required). It is also possible to get a ticket from a bus driver (cash required – not recommended option).     Prague has flexible, reliable and inexpensive metro, tram, and bus system. During the peak hours, metro trains run every 1 or 2 minutes, and during off-peak hours at least every 10 minutes. Metro operates daily from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Prague metro network consists of 3 lines designated by letters and differentiated in colour: A - green colour (Depo Hostivar station - Motol station), B - yellow colour (Cerny most station - Zlicin station), C - red colour (Letnany - Haje station), with transfers possible at Museum station (lines A and C), Mustek station (lines A and B), and Florenc station (lines B and C).

    The tariffs for the Prague city area are divided into Zones P and 0 (in total, there are 4 tariff zones for the Prague area). Zone P has a doubled tariff value and Zone 0 is divided into Zones 0 and B – the border stops zone.
    Zone P includes the metro, trams, Prague public transport buses (lines No‘s 100 – 299 and 901 – 960-night ones), the Petřín funicular, ferries and selected railway line sections.
    Zone 0 includes buses from the suburb areas (lines No‘s 300 – 671) running through the Prague area, and selected railway line sections.
    The individual fare for the zone P (which is generally sufficient for travelling throughout Prague) is 32 CZK (1.2 EUR) and the ticket is valid for 90 minutes from the first entrance of the tram, bus or metro and validation of the ticket (you can change between different traffic means during these 90 minutes). Short-term (30 min) ticket costs 24 CZK (1 EUR).
    Please note that for transporting luggage with dimensions exceeding 25x45x70 cm an additional fare of 16 CZK (0.6 EUR) is requested. The time and zone validity of the ticket for luggage is the same as the time and zone validity of the passenger's ticket.

By train

Prague has several train stations, but international trains are likely to arrive at the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží). There are also some international arrivals at Holešovice Station (Nádraží Holešovice). These stations are co-located with the metro stations (red line C) which goes directly to the venue – metro station Florenc. Please use trains in the direction of Letňany/Ladví from the Main Railway Station (2 minutes and 1 stop) or in the direction Háje/Kačerov from Nádraží Holešovice (3 minutes and 2 stops). Leave the metro and turn left. Then walk straight approximately 4 minutes to the hotel (from point 1 to 2 in the previous map).
